Pricing based on the work required.
STRING INSTRUMENTS AND AMPLIFIERS
$90 per hour
This is the basic hourly labour rate for all services. Parts are an additional cost. All quotes will include a minimum of 1 hour of time.
We accept cash, credit, or interac payments. No cheques, please.
This rate fits fairly in a competitive marketplace such as Ottawa. We reserve the right to change the rate at any time.

TYPICAL LABOUR RATES
$90 /HR
A Basic Guitar Setup $140
(Parts, strings extra)
Fret level, crown, polish. $160
Standard Fret Job. $360
Basic Amp test and Bias $90
(component check/test and pots cleaned)
Tube testing. $40
If there are additional things we discover when doing a repair, the $90 hourly rate will apply.

Some Background on who we are and what drives us to do the best work possible.
Bill Pope grew up in Montreal and was an active part of the Montreal music scene, gigging with a band called Matrix.
He has a degree in Engineering Technology and a Professional Guitar Diploma from Berklee College of Music. He is Certified by Fender Corporation for Instrument and Electronics repair.
He is an avid wood worker and early on developed a passion for instrument repair and restoration.

Over the course of his career Bill held senior positions in the electronics field with a number of companies, ranging from Apple to Aerospace and Defence. He started and managed 3 companies of his own.
In 2011 he retired from the aerospace industry and lived for a year in Southeast Asia. After returning to Ottawa, Bill established Guitar-Tech and became authorized by Fender, Yorkville, Traynor, Roland, and Boss for their warranty repair work.

Guitar-Tech has grown considerably in the time it has been around and is proud to serve many of Ottawa's best known musicians. The work is exciting and continues to provide a much needed service.
